A source in the competent authorities stated in a statement to a SANA correspondent that during combing the remaining areas to which the army had restored security and stability in Damascus countryside and the southern region, the competent authorities found a quantity of weapons, ammunition, missiles, communication devices and narcotic materials from the remnants of the terrorists.
The source indicated that the seized items included "23 and 5.14" mm machine guns, 12.7 "mm Doshka machine guns," 7.62 "PKC" mm ", RPG launchers, hand grenades, snipers, assorted assault rifles and anti-missile missiles. Shields, advanced communication devices, night vision glasses and thousands of different shots, in addition to large quantities of narcotic drugs.
The source pointed out that in cooperation with the families, "after monitoring and follow-up operations, a group of terrorists was arrested in connection with external parties smuggling the materials used to manufacture explosive devices, and thousands of thunderbolts and explosive materials were seized, members of the terrorist group smuggling them through trucks to transport goods."
During the combing operations, the army units found dozens of tunnels, weapons and ammunition depots, most of which were Western-made, and large quantities of logistical equipment in addition to command and control headquarters that were used to attack the safe areas and Syrian Arab Army points.
