The search for the soldier from Jerusalem, 21-year-old Adiel Fischler, who left yesterday on Friday to develop a baseline in the Eilat Mountains and has since disappeared, continues for the second day. Over the past two days, searches have focused on the Shizafon base area and the Eilat mountains. Military personnel, volunteers from the police rescue unit in Eilat and police officers were also added today, IDF trackers, who are trying to track down the soldier - the commander of training soldiers in the armored corps.

In an investigation conducted several hours after his disappearance, it emerged that the soldier was out of the SHG wearing his B uniform and carrying an M16 weapon. After a while, the base noticed that Adiel was missing, and a message was sent to the Israeli police and senior IDF officials.

Fischler left the base without a briefcase and during hours of no public transport. An examination with his parents revealed that he was not on his way home. The soldier also emerged from the base wearing a B uniform with the rank of First Sergeant, weapon and wearing a hat to his head. In the IDF, searches were started and at the same time, volunteers from the Eilat-Eilot rescue units were banned from the base area.

Due to darkness, it was only early Friday morning that air searches began. A police helicopter carrying a patrol of the Eilat rescue unit was lifted into the air and began scanning the area. Due to the high temperatures in the Eilat Mountains and the fear of Adiel's life, additional forces were brought into the area, including the dogs department and the IDF's missing persons unit.
