Sponsored by the Corona, the summer food festivals have become virtual or the ones that come home to us. • We checked out two dishes from the Pepsi Max special menu

We would very much like to open the article on "Summer is here already and with it the many food festivals that are flooding Israel," but Corona, you know. Instead, we come across quite a few ventures for restaurateurs, collaborators at discounted centers that will facilitate diners and diners and most importantly a new concept called the "Virtual Food Festival" that seems to be leaving us soon.

One of these virtual festivals is responsible for "Pepsi Max", which this week has a festival that is expected to last a whole month, during which a number of well-known restaurants from around the country will serve special dishes created specially for the "event", dishes that are available both on shipment and on-site seating.

Among the places chosen are Pizza Elephant with a colorful "Pride Pizza", Peking Restaurant in collaboration with blogger Racheli Crout, Tony Vespa, Abu Marwen of Haifa, Jerusalem's Rehavia Sushi, Falafel Musa of Netanya, a hamburger captain for a variety of Frank's hot dogs and sausages.

We decided to take advantage of the festival and place a double order from Captain and Frank, two places we have not yet sampled as part of the "Daily Delivery" and so check out the specials made for the Pepsi Max Festival as well as the regular dishes.

Frank's logo, the one that has justified it over the years, was "a hot dog with respect," and it's a piece of honor. The chain on its many offerings offers a great mix of quality sausages (which can also be purchased for home cooking since the Corona began), no matter what animal, rolls that remain crispy even after baking and delivery, delicious sauerkraut in an uncertain section, and so do the sauces.

It may seem that there is not much to write about hot dogs, but this is the whole world, and if the sausage is not high quality or some compromise has been made on the raw materials, it is noticeable on the first bite. In Frank's case, before the special dish we would soon reach, we received a pair of seemingly ordinary chicken sausages, with all the other ingredients, mustard, sauerkraut and fried onions, coming separately. A slight burn in the oven for a bun and we put together an amazing bite, which mainly reminded me of football pitches that I visited in South America, but each and every one of them has its nostalgia.

The special dish created for the Pepsi Max Festival is the Chorizo ​​Verde Sausage. Green Mexican sausage with its substitutes and beet aioli sauce. The most important thing about this dish happened, is that it tasted delicious, the sausage did not explode, which sometimes happens in chorizo, and the flavor concentration was accurate. For those who eat with their eyes (why?) This dish may not look particularly tempting, strange green sausage and phosphorous pink beet aioli, but stop with the nonsense, pour and eat. Trust me you will earn.

Captain Onion, on the other hand, was Captain Onion Max. Double burger with captain sauce, three onion rings, fried onions and vegetables. The way the packaging is packaged on the spot, individually, carefully, and with something weird and white called "hamburger separator," has helped us enjoy the meatloaf separately and also feel the whole mix of the dish together, and it's a success.

These are supposedly ingredients that can be damaged together and separately in a delivery that lasts more than a minute, but we did receive patties with a precise preparation. The onion rings were probably fried right next to the shipment so that they did not come from crumpled and overcooked. Here, too, like hot dogs, we put together our dream pack and bite, was successful, so we got ours.
