Pay interest? Likud members on Sunday request from Knesset Finance Committee to grant Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz tax benefits after the tax authority demanded Netanyahu pay retroactively tax on benefits received in his capacity as prime minister .

The Finance Committee is asked to approve the allocation of various benefits related to the two's private residence and a variety of different tax benefits to their credit. Both Netanyahu and Gantz have previously denied summaries in their coalition agreement for their wishes at a surviving residence, but eventually a series of various benefits will be submitted to the Finance Committee on Tuesday.

Among other things, the Finance Committee is asked to approve Netanyahu's retroactive tax benefits in a series of expenses that all Likud officials have received over the years, such as an exemption from Netanyahu's request for car use, a previously approved exemption - as the car expenses required for the prime minister's status are particularly expensive. An application was also made for an exemption for any service that does not belong to the personal salary, such as clothing and food exemptions.

In addition, the application seeks to authorize additional expenses such as household expenses, renting warehouses, accommodation expenses, renovations and more. Among other things, they also want to compare the salary between the prime minister and the replacement prime minister.

"Outrageous and personal move of leftist organizations"

The Likud said: "Prime Minister Netanyahu does not require any special conditions. The Finance Committee will charge Netanyahu with tax just like previous prime ministers. There was an outrageous and personal attempt, through left-wing petitions, to charge Netanyahu with a tax that no other prime minister required. There will be no one law for Netanyahu and another law for former prime ministers. Prime Minister Netanyahu continues to work around the clock to save the lives and livelihoods of Israeli citizens, including returning about half a million people to the workforce. "

Coalition chairman Mickey Zohar also defended Prime Minister Netanyahu and said, "Pursuing media and legal and now pursuing him financially" in Gantz's environment, he said that he had informed Gaffney that he was giving up an accommodation, workers or expenses related to the property and also funding the expenses of his sons his family.

MK Moshe Gaffney, chairman of the Finance Committee, also addressed the issue, saying: "We have previously approved a bill that compares the prime minister's terms to the president, and that the tax laws apply to him as the president did when the tax authority did not charge tax on the prime ministers for generations. The tax authority requires the current prime minister to pay a retroactive tax, so the request now is not to make a retroactive law, but a tax benefit, which, according to the tax authority, has not been collected in the past by prime ministers for generations. "

In contrast, the opposition attacked the two, Naftali Bennett wrote: "What happened to you? One million unemployed, the economy is plummeting, and you care about your own benefits, Prime Minister. Do you understand how many you are not connected? What kind of example do you give? Already an epidemic prevention campaign to prevent an economic disaster for Israeli citizens. "
