From 8 to 19 July, the national event offers readers a unique digital offer dedicated to books for young and old.

Usually reading is a lonely activity. But for six years, thanks to Partir en Livre, a national and free event, books have been able to meet young and old. This summer, given the health crisis, the events originally scheduled were canceled. However, in consultation with the Ministry of Culture, the National Book Center (CNL), which organizes the festival, has decided to maintain the subsidies granted to labeled structures and offers readers a unique digital offer dedicated to children's books from 8 to July 19.

Last year, the 5th edition of Partir en Livre enabled 700,000 participants to take advantage of thousands of reading events. Building on this success, the CNL could not, despite the pandemic context, cancel this great literature festival. It therefore reinvents itself. Without losing its essence, however. “Too often, reading is seen as an imposed exercise, something very academic for children. Going on a book allows you to offer another, more fun approach to reading, ” explains Aurélie Neyret, illustrator of the poster for this 6th edition.

"The whole heart of the project lies in sharing the taste and the pleasure of reading." Is this why the designer of the Carnets de Ceris e (Sun) imagined a poster in lilac, magenta and fuchsia tones where we see a young girl who escapes from her urban decor by the grace of a book . "You feel like you are at the beach with her while she is in town." The illustrator says it rightly, "Reading is a sub-pope, a means of sharing points of view, living adventures and growing up".

And that's what Partir en livre offers with this new, one-of-a-kind edition. Each day of this children's book mass will be offered five digital meetings to share the pleasure of reading. On the program: interactive broadcasts and shows that will give voice to those who write literature for young and old (authors, illustrators, booksellers, booktubers, librarians, etc.), reading tips, but also games and quizzes to try to win Read Checks. Each of these contents will be available on the event site as well as on its social networks under the hashtag #PartirEnLivre.

Readers will also find digital animations offered by the Youth Book and Press Fair in Seine-Saint-Denis, as well as the activities of the other partners of the event. As Aurélie Neyret puts it very well: “There is a real variety in children's literature. Everyone can find happiness. ” So, to your keyboards, tablets and smartphones!
