The WHO called on Monday to increase the production of dexamethasone and to “ distribute rapidly worldwide ” this powerful steroid which has proven to be effective in treating the most seriously ill patients with Covid-19.

" Fortunately, it is an inexpensive drug and there are many manufacturers of dexamethasone around the world who we believe can speed up production, " said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, during a virtual press conference from the organization's headquarters in Geneva.
