George Floyd Effect: Documentation circulated on social networks tonight (Tuesday) shows protesters trying to knock down the statue of former US President Andrew Jackson, using ropes tied around the president's figure. In addition, protesters sprayed graffiti at the base of the statue condemning Jackson.

The video showed protesters climbing the bronze monument located in Lafayette Square, just meters from the White House lawn entrance, continuing the recent wave of protests that included downloading and damaging statues and pictures of protesters seen by protesters as racist or partisan.

Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States from 1982-37 and served as a general in the U.S. Army. He is considered a populist politician who has often been compared to incumbent President Donald Trump.

Throughout history, social activists have frequently criticized Jackson, a Democrat, for signing his Indian removal law during his years in which thousands of people were expelled from their land by the United States government and forced to march in "The Path of Tears," prompting the death of some From the Indians who took part in the marches.
