" It is the most powerful wall (...) there is in the world, it benefits from incredible technology ", explained the American president during a round table in Yuma to mark the milestone of 200 miles ( 322 kilometers). The White House tenant insisted that this wall was " insurmountable " unless there was " an extraordinarily long ladder ".

Donald Trump in particular assured that this controversial building was useful to fight against illegal immigration but had also proved to be very effective in fighting against the spread of Covid-19.

" He stopped the Covid, he stopped everything ," he said. In California, for example, there are very infected areas on the Mexican side. If we did not have the wall, the situation would be catastrophic, ”he added.

Promised the day of the launch of his campaign, June 16, 2015, this " magnificent wall " whose description and size have varied over the meetings, is a source of recurring frustration for Donald Trump since he came to power. Faced with the refusal of the Democrats of Congress to release funds for this project which they deem ineffective, he looked for ways of circumventing, by knocking on the door of the Pentagon in particular.
