China reaffirms respect for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity

Zhang Jun, the Chinese permanent representative to the United Nations, stressed that any UN Security Council resolution on the cross-border introduction of humanitarian aid to the Syrians must respect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"We believe that any decision of the Security Council must show respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria ... and we intend to maintain communication with other members of the Security Council on this issue," Zhang was quoted as saying during a session of the UN Security Council.
