The Paris Prosecutor's Office wonders about the conditions under which LFI executives, including Jean-Luc Mélenchon, have paid fines

France rebels in the viewfinder of justice. A preliminary investigation was opened on May 14 for “breach of trust” against several party leaders, announced the Paris prosecution on Tuesday, confirming information from the Duck in chains.

The investigation, entrusted to the Financial Brigade, aims, according to concordant sources, to verify the "conditions under which the leaders of LFI, including Jean-Luc Mélenchon, paid the fines and damages to which they were sentenced In the stormy search case at LFI headquarters the year before.

Mélenchon denounces an "organized flight"

Last December, the criminal court had followed the requisitions of the prosecution by ordering Jean-Luc Mélenchon to three months suspended prison sentence and 8,000 euros fine for intimidation and rebellion in October 2018. The four other defendants (MP Bastien Lachaud, MEP Manuel Bompard, State Councilor Bernard Pinerolo and press attaché Muriel Rozenfeld) were sentenced to fines ranging from 2,000 to 8,000 euros. All were also to pay several thousand euros in damages to the civil parties - police, gendarmes and magistrates. Or 26,500 euros.

However, according to the duck chained, the checks would have "not been issued personally by the condemned", but "settled with the checkbook of La France insoumise". A payment completely legal, argues the lawyer for LFI, quoted by the newspaper. "As Mr. Mélenchon and his relatives defended the interests and premises of the association, the association can decide to protect them," he said.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon reacted in a tweet denouncing an "organized flight", a "revenge" of the Attorney General of Paris and "Macron's justice".

An organized (and remunerated?) Leak by tweet says that Madame Champrenault is taking revenge with a new preliminary investigation. What is it about ? I do not know. Macron's justice is that. https://t.co/GSVoRxGlrv
