Permission to publish: Investigation of two Israeli citizens from Majdal Chrome arrested earlier this month revealed how Hezbollah in Lebanon is working to recruit Israeli civilians to work for it in Israel, as well as the identity of Hezbollah sites and recruiters.

The Shin Bet investigation shows that Beirut Mahmoud, an Israeli citizen born and raised in Majd al-Chrome, who now lives in Lebanon together with her husband Balal Bazari, served as an associate representative of the terrorist organization. , Cute Beirut and her husband Balal are operated by the Hezbollah terrorist organization as Israeli citizens and recruiters in favor of Hezbollah activities.

Beirut was interrogated by security forces during 2013 on suspicion of contacting Hezbollah activists she met at conferences held in Morocco in 2008 and Tunisia in 2012. Following her investigation in 2013, Beirut left Israel and moved to live in Lebanon, where, as stated, she married Balal Bizari.

Following Beirut's ties to the suspects, and following a joint meeting of the three in Turkey during December 2019, the two were interrogated by the General Security Service on suspicion that during the visit an attempt was made to recruit Hezbollah ranks by Beirut and her husband.

As part of the investigation, the two contacts were verified with Beirut, as well as information about the meeting held in Turkey and how Hezbollah operates through Beirut and her husband in order to recruit more Israelis for Hezbollah activities. After their investigation was completed, the suspects were released under restrictive conditions.

As part of the counterterrorism efforts, the Shin Bet coordinator contacted Balal in Lebanon to warn that the Shin Bet is aware that they are recruiting for Hezbollah, despite the press coverage they present and that they should cease recruiting attempts by Israeli civilians.

The Shin Bet said: "The General Security Service will continue to work resolutely to monitor and thwart any Hezbollah terrorist or espionage activities, as well as emphasizing the great severity attributed to the exploitation of Israeli citizenship in aid of terrorist and espionage activities."
