Thousands of Turkish lawyers demonstrated in several Turkish cities, protesting the arbitrary policies of the President of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and against his pursuit of a law through which he would control the bar.

During a mass demonstration in front of the Courts Complex in Istanbul, the head of the city’s Bar Association, Mehmet Durakoglu stressed the necessity of “continuing the joint struggle against Erdogan's authoritarian and anti-justice, constitution and laws and aimed at eliminating all forms of opposition,” calling on all unions, organizations and human rights associations to confront Erdogan's efforts to control the apparatus Judicial to be in the service of his plans and projects.

"After Erdogan took control of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, prosecutors and judges, he is now trying to control the bar associations so that he can silence the voices of the opposition in all its forms," ​​Durakoglu said.
