China again urged foreign countries to stop interfering in their internal affairs.
"Foreign countries should look at the situation in Hong Kong objectively," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Legian, in today's remarks reported by Reuters, stressing that Beijing will not allow foreign interference in its internal affairs.
The comments came in response to the positions of the United States, Britain and other countries regarding the adoption of China by Hong Kong's new National Security Law.
In turn, Zhang Xiaoming, deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Chinese State Council, considered that some countries' announcement that they would impose harsh penalties on some Chinese officials against the backdrop of adopting the National Security Law represents "gang logic".
Chinese President Xi Jinping signed the Hong Kong National Security Protection Act yesterday after it was approved by the Supreme Legislative Council.
