" It is a former lawyer of the bar of Bastia, François Chailley-Pompei, who came to file a complaint by indicating in his mail that the association '' Victoria '', which had for initial object the financing of the radical left party ( PRG) in Bastia, would have, in between the two rounds of the elections, modified its statutes to distribute food to the needy ”, explained to AFP Caroline Tharot, prosecutor of the Republic of Bastia. This complaint follows an article published on the site of France 3 Via Stella, added the prosecutor, specifying that the investigation had been entrusted to the judicial police.

The outgoing nationalist mayor Pierre Savelli was elected Sunday with 49.37% of the votes cast before the broad union list of Jean-Sébastien De Casalta (39.73%), ranging from the radical left party (PRG) of Jean Zuccharelli to the regionalist right of Jean-Martin Mondoloni, and the various Gauche Julien Morganti (10.9%). The Bastian election campaign took place in a conflictual climate with the filing of several complaints including one for intrusion into the grounds of the town hall of Bastia.

Me François Chailley-Pompei is the founder of the association for the respect of universal suffrage (Arsu), which was put to sleep in 2010 but held for thirty years a role of vigil against any form of electoral fraud in Corsica.

During the regional and legislative elections of March 1986 in Bastia, the 44 signature lists of the commune had been stolen and replaced by false lists, which had resulted in the cancellation of the two polls. Arsu was a civil party in this case.
