A large police force had to be deployed around the judicial court during the presentation of the alleged traffickers to an investigating judge in order to contain the relatives who came to support them. The suspects are suspected of having organized drug trafficking in the form of a " drive " in the Drouot district, classified as a priority security zone (ZSP), under their control.

The establishment by the Mulhouse public prosecutor's office in early March of a “ local crime treatment group ” after a series of urban violence, enabled the departmental security group to fight against the underground economy and narcotics ” identify the entire trafficking chain: suppliers, sellers, lookouts and nurses (people responsible for keeping drugs at their homes).

During the arrest of the defendants on Monday by 70 police officers, with the support of two Raid branches and a canine brigade, 30,000 euros and two kilos of cannabis resin were seized. Investigators suspect the suspected traffickers of having sold a kilo of cannabis resin every day in around 100 daily transactions.

After their police custody, six men were charged with drug trafficking and a seventh for money laundering. Two other individuals, imprisoned in connection with separate cases, were removed from their cells for hearing. They will be presented later to an examining magistrate.
