A group of intellectuals and scientists debated the concept of "infection" and criticized the Alberto Fernández government for the measures it took in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic: " They take advantage of the quarantine to advance their own agenda," they said.
The talk was carried out on YouTube and some of those who, some time ago, signed an open letter entitled "Democracy is in danger." Among them the sociologist Juan José Sebreli, the historian Fernando Pedrosa, the scientist Sandra Pitta and the actor Juan Acosta. The moderator was Fernando Iglesias.
The meeting was called "Pursued by the infection" and there each one spoke about what they feel and think about the pandemic and the decisions of the State.
"We are experiencing a use of the quarantine by the Government," Iglesias began and continued: "They seek to advance their own economic, social and political agenda. The news is increasingly worrying. There is an unbalanced Justice in favor of power ."
For his part, Pitta told how the idea of the open letter arose: "I feel that this document was not debated in depth. They stayed with the word 'infection' but not in what it says. There we talked about the subjugation of the rights of citizens by the state. "
"Suddenly it was transformed into an anti-quarantine document. That is the ability that Kirchnerism has to turn words around ," the scientist analyzed.
Fernando Pedrosa criticized Alberto Fernández and said that for him the best strategy the opposition has is to go out and discuss the value of words: "The document we signed comes to question the credibility of the Kirchner story. We must begin to discuss the meaning of things. They care about the story, with which they dominate, not the facts "..
In this sense, Sebreli insisted on the idea that the Government is "a rehash of the old Kirchnerism" and criticized Fernández's voters: "They are political idiots.
