The deputy RN of the Pyrénées-Orientales takes office this Friday as mayor of Perpignan. In this first interview given to the written press since his election, Louis Aliot declines his priorities for the city and renews his loyalty to the National Rally.
LE FIGARO. - After two unsuccessful attempts, what made the difference and allowed your election in Perpignan?
Louis ALIOT. - Ten years of local presence. From the moment you have patience, that you marry the mentality, the local culture, the sort of identity of the city, no barrier is insurmountable. Whatever your party. In Perpignan, Marine Le Pen is 40% presidential. It obviously weighed on my election. Six years ago I was dealing with an electoral hoax, a withdrawal of the left against me that some call the "republican front". If this republican front fell in Perpignan, it can fall elsewhere!
