Today, firefighting cadres put out a number of fires that affected fruit trees, forests, and dry grass in separate areas of the governorate.
Brigadier General Ghiath Akel, Director of the Civil Defense Branch in Homs, told a SANA reporter that the civil defense elements in cooperation with the firefighting of the Agricultural Directorate and the Homs Fire Brigade extinguished a fire that broke out with forest and fruit trees in Al-Waar groves and extended to the proximity of the buildings in Al-Qarabees neighborhood in the city without causing any human losses.
Aaqel said that the firefighting cadres also put out a fire in the olive trees west of the Ezz El-Din petrol station in Khirbet Al-Souda village in Homs countryside, in addition to other fires that broke out in the dry grass in separate areas of the governorate.
Yesterday, the civil defense forces and the Homs Fire Brigade put out a fire in the grass near the Palmyra roundabout at the entrance to the southern city of Homs.
