Yesha Council set out a new advertising campaign this week. Under the slogan "They decide," a photograph of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas alongside a photograph of MK Ahmed Tibi, and background photo demonstration held in Rabin Square against the annexation.

The campaign went over death Miscellaneous - among other things as a cover letter in this newspaper: Clearly, his messages are aimed at exerting heavy pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu rather than hurting his starring personalities, but the leading slogan, "They Will Not Decide," begs the question: Who will not, and why, not decide? What is more elementary, fundamental, the right of the other person or group to participate in decisions about his life and his future? And at the political level, if Abu Mazen prevents a decision, then why pretend to want negotiations? And if MK Ahmad Tibi, as a representative of about a fifth of the country's citizens , Will not decide, so why should a legislature in Israel?

The condescending and forceful statement "they will not decide" is reminiscent of the debate that took place in Israel following the negotiations between Israel and Syria, and the idea of a referendum on the future of the Golan. Then there were voices calling for depriving Arab citizens of the right to vote on "fundamental issues." Why? You guessed it correctly: "They won't decide." And why won't they decide? Because they are not Jews. And this begs the question, is the expectation that all citizens of the country will be on one side of the map or in the political view? In ideology, and on fundamental issues? Does the other's position clearly and automatically contradict the general interest?

Even the pious among the ideological right-wingers, such as Menachem Begin or Ruby Rivlin, have come out against the idea of denying the right to vote and influence from the citizens of the Arab state, because they know for sure that this is an endless way that can label Israel as dark, totalitarian on the border of apartheid.

The right of the Yesha people, as an ideological group, to fight for their ideas, but they must not promote the idea of eliminating the other side, denying the other, the different. Not far today they too can find themselves in exactly the same situation. We all remember where they were during the agreement period Oslo or the disengagement, and some bitterly shouted for their exclusion and silence,

I would expect the sane majority in Jewish society to go against the campaign slogan and against this dangerous statement that cancellation of the other means self-cancellation, and as the recent elections have shown, attempts to cancel and exclude the Arab public with increasing political participation. Who thinks he can prevent Arab citizens from deciding in the Knesset, including the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, will be surprised again and again. We all remember how the attempts to damage the Arab representation ended and what the result was in raising the blocking percentage. If you are in favor of annexation, look for a different persuasive password.
