The Bake Off Argentina final (Sundays at 10:30 p.m. on Telefe) became the most anticipated television moment of the year. This Sunday, July 5, Damián Pier Basile and Samanta Casais will face each other in the last and great duel of the pastry contest led by Paula Chaves . But will the result that will be seen on air be the definitive one?

The question - simple as well as complex - still has no answer. So the channel and the producer Turner work against the clock trying to find a solution to the conflict. Is that after it was discovered that Samanta had previously worked as a professional -the cycle only admits amateur participants-, the reality was under the magnifying glass and its definition, which was recorded a year ago, could be modified.

"Our teams are carrying out the inquiries for their verification, as well as any possible non-observance of the participation rules. In the event of any irregularity being verified, the eventual decision will be communicated in the issuance of the final chapter ," explained the authorities in a brief but forceful statement.

Now, after reading the letter, a simple question arises: What is the letter that Telefe has in its possession to end the allegations of an alleged fraud? As Clarín could confirm , during these hours the possibility that Samanta has lied in the affidavit that he signed before entering the program is being thoroughly analyzed .

This unusual detail seems to be the ace in the production sleeve to make the decision that fans of the pastry contest have been asking for several weeks: to disqualify the participant who, as if that were not enough, would have turned out to be the winner.

Samanta, in action, during one of the first broadcasts of the reality show.

And it is not that we are doing a spoiler , it is that Casais herself published on her Instagram account a video in which she is remodeling her kitchen and that led viewers to speculate with the possibility that she has made the changes thanks to the prize of 600 thousand pesos that the contest gives the winner.

But regardless of who has triumphed in the competition, the unknown is why Samanta would have dared to sign something committing such a lie. Did you think that no one would find out? Did you really believe that your work history was not going to leak? Or did you sign the contract without previously reading it?

The questions are thousands and seem to have no logical answer. Especially for a detail that Clarín was able to confirm: Samanta would not only have lied in her affidavit, she also lied to her own companions. It is that a climate of total camaraderie, during the course of the reality all the participants of the contest told each other about their previous non-professional experiences and whitewashed their studies in neighborhood schools. But she never said anything. She omitted everything.

Samanta stood out above the rest in most programs.

Marcos Perren , for example, said that he had his own business and that he sold cakes from his home. And that nobody bothered or was considered to violate any rule: it is that he never worked in any gastronomic place and did not even live completely from the pastry shop. In fact, he still shares a home with his family because his income does not allow him to become independent.

Samanta, on the other hand, walked a few years ago on C5N advertising his own premises and was part of the cuisine of Café San Juan in 2014, something that was confirmed by this newspaper Lelé Cristóbal , the owner of the establishment. All this, as if that were not enough, kept him in total and absolute silence, even before the new "friends" that were made in the program.

And it is precisely this situation that blew up his former colleagues. It is that as the news of the Casais fraud came out, the inmate grew day after day and ended up causing collective outrage. Some immediately  contacted their attorneys and began reading the terms of the contract . Then they were in for a surprise.

Damián and Samanta will meet this Sunday in the grand final.

One of the clauses they signed would prevent them from carrying out any type of trial or claim against the channel, the producer and ... their former colleagues. In other words, as much as it is verified that there was really a fraud, none of the participants - not even the finalists - would be in a position to act against Telefe or Samanta and request through Justice that the final be repeated.

But, as if this were not enough, Clarín also confirmed that another of the clauses prevents everyone from speaking to the media. Their declarations must be previously authorized by Telefe and managed exclusively through them. Therefore, whatever the outcome of the final, whether they decide to modify it or not, the true inmates of Bake Off Argentina will only come to light in October, when everyone, without obstacles, can tell their truth.
