The Senate, with a Republican majority, approved this text unanimously. The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives approved it unanimously on Wednesday as well.
Supported by both parties, the law will still have to be promulgated by President Donald Trump to take effect. The White House has not indicated whether it intends to do so or veto.
