Covid-19: a judicial inquiry will be opened against Édouard Philippe, Olivier Véran and Agnès Buzyn

Nine complaints relating to the sole count of "failure to fight a disaster" were referred to the Attorney General François Molins.


The 18 senior magistrates of the Applications Commission of the Court of Justice of the Republic have decided to forward nine complaints to François Molins, attorney general at the Court of Cassation.

These complaints, now joined, all relate to the sole count of "abstention from fighting a disaster" , an offense provided for and punished by article 223-7 of the penal code, "against Mr. Edouard Philippe, in his capacity of Prime Minister at the time of the events and of Mrs. Agnès Buzyn and of Mr. Olivier Véran, in their respective and successive capacity as Minister of Solidarity and Health at the time of the events ”.

They will be transmitted to the Investigation Commission. This requests commission has examined 53 complaints out of 90 complaints filed to date against the ministers since the start of containment since the start of containment. 34 complaints were declared inadmissible and 10 others were closed.
