The completion of the railway branch project to transfer gravel returns from Hasia quarries to coastal and interior cities contributes to reducing the price of gravel by up to 35 percent, in addition to providing road maintenance works.
Engineer Mohsen Mahmoud, director of the railways branch in Homs, stated in a statement to SANA that setting the branch to transfer gravel from Qatina station to the Hasaya quarries and unloading stations in both Tartous and Lattakia by investing recently will contribute to a significant reduction in transportation costs, pointing out that the branch is ready to receive transportation requests From the quarries of gravel civilizations as a first stage to the Syrian coast and later to all governorates when maintaining the Homs Aleppo and Homs Damascus line where 201 tons of gravel were transported through it.
Mahmoud pointed out that the foundation is looking to develop its work and increase its activity through preparing studies and setting the necessary plans to connect all vital installations to the railways, including linking the Talkalakh silos to the railway track in the Talkalakh region, linking the gas production plants in the Al-Furqals area with the railway network, and establishing a double line from the Syrian ports Towards Homs Governorate and even Al-Basirah Station due to the large and expected future transportation volumes in the coming years.
He drew attention to the implementation of the grain silencing project in Homs, with a length of 7 km, and placing it with investment, at an estimated cost of 250 million pounds.
