" We are delighted with this agreement (...). More simply, we are not asking for anything and as soon as there is this agreement, we withdraw from any action, ”said Pierre-Jean Douvier. David Hallyday and Laura Smet had engaged in a long-term legal battle against their father's widow to obtain their share of the inheritance which they considered to have been deprived by a will drawn up in the United States.
