In the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court (Thursday), a hearing was held at the trial of the real estate woman Inbal Orr, against which she was indicted for tax offenses and fraud against home buyers in her projects.
Orr came to a hearing without a lawyer, said she wanted to represent herself, and she was not interested in being represented by a lawyer. Judge Dana Amir argued in response that it was legally mandatory to have a defense attorney representing her at trial.
"In a case where the prosecution is asking for a prison sentence, it is important and you should have a defense attorney. This is in your favor and it is also by law. You have to be represented." Despite the judge's remarks, Orr continued to insist on not being represented by a lawyer.

Orr said in response: "If a lawyer is appointed, I will not cooperate with him. I have no confidence in lawyers."
The prosecutor in the case said that "it is time for them to find out the issue of private representation. If a private defense attorney is not appointed, a public defense attorney will be appointed under the law. The law requires legal representation. Plaintiff contended that Light is time-consuming and delays proceedings at trial. "The indictment was filed 10 months ago and no progress has been made yet."
The judge ruled that he would be appointed in the light of a public defense lawyer. "There is great importance in representation in this trial. It is required by law and the accusation can benefit greatly from legal representation."
