Russia reiterated that the US withdrawal from the Intermediate and Short-Range Missile Treaty was "pre-planned" and was included in its policies to achieve its goals of military hegemony.

"We see that the US withdrawal from the treaty was pre-planned, and accusations against Russia of violating the treaty are unfounded," Sputnik news agency quoted Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin as saying today.

Fomen pointed out that the United States is conducting, over a long period of time, "a gradual policy to abandon its arms control obligations in order to secure for itself conditions for military domination."

And the US administration announced in February last year that it was discontinuing its obligations under the treaty, so that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would officially announce his country's withdrawal from it on August 2.

On the other hand, Fomin stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between Russia and China, which reached its highest level in the history of bilateral relations, criticizing the words of the former American National Security Adviser in his memoirs about this partnership, considering that it causes "heartburn".
