Reassuring news. While training for the Tour de France in Tunja, Colombia, Nairo Quintana (Arkéa-Samsic) was hit by a car on Thursday. The runner, who suffered from pain in his elbow, right knee and left thigh, as well as a few scratches, passed exams at the local hospital (X-rays, MRI, ultrasound), which ultimately proved to be optimistic. According to the press release from his team, the Colombian does not suffer from any fracture, but from a "poly-trauma" in the right knee, which will require fifteen days of rest.

But the Breton team announces that “in no case will it affect its preparation for its objective of the year which is the Tour de France. Quintana should then return to Europe from July 20 to continue its preparation, with the Tour de l'Ain from August 7 to 9.
