The second wave also hits the Palestinians: The number of active patients crossed the threshold of 3,000 patients over the weekend, the Ramallah Ministry of Health said. Also, the total number of coronary virus infections increased to 3,689 after 274 new cases were verified yesterday (Friday), the number of victims was 15 and the number of recoverers was 637.
Most of the new infections, about 126, are concentrated in the Hebron district, which is still the epidemic's focus in the cities of the Palestinian Authority in Judea and Samaria. District Governor Jabrin Al-Bakri has announced a closure as of July 1st. Later, PA Prime Minister Mohammed's wife ordered a blockade on all the West Bank and a ban on traffic on the streets, except for bakeries and pharmacies.
In an interview with The Spa News Agency, a resident of Fatma Bader, called for stricter restrictions. Bader said she saw a loosening of residents' guidelines and inefficiencies on the part of government officials. Yasra Muhammad, a resident of the south of the district, said she was watching over her 60-year-old mother and worried about using disinfectants. "During the previous closure, I did not take care of it, but the unprecedented increase in the number of people infected and deaths caused us a lot of concern."
Against the backdrop of the closure, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has been trying to explain to the public why most businesses need to be disabled. The office has posted a rank of places according to the level of infection risk. For example, at the top of the list are the cafes, mosques and churches, sports halls, big music shows and cinemas.
The new situation has drawn reference from Maj. Gen. Maj. Farage, who is taking part in data collection for the government. Last night, a recorded message was issued by the Palestinian senior, stating that they are under harsh and unprecedented circumstances when it comes to the Corona sticks. However, the senior official said that they are taking all necessary steps, including at checkpoints and activity among residents.
