"The first 1000 days of the child" . The concept was developed a few years ago by the World Health Organization (WHO). With the aim of preventing chronic diseases (cardiovascular, obesity, diabetes), by acting on the environment, lifestyle and diet during the first two years of life, a period of "brain bubbling" but also of great vulnerability.
In France, the “first 1000 days” commission, chaired by neuropsychiatrist Boris Cyrulnik, begins this period of intrauterine life - in the 4th month of pregnancy. Influence of poverty, violence, psychological disorders, alcohol… “ The baby is not a bad or a good seed, as we said when I was a child. We can act on the environment, which itself acts on the child, ”explains Boris Cyrulnik.
