Terrible drama at Parc Saint-Paul. This Saturday, a woman died in a carousel accident in the amusement park located about ten kilometers from Beauvais, in the Oise, we learned from the gendarmerie services.
"One person fell from the Coaster Formula 1 carousel and could not be revived," confirms Gilles Campion, park manager, contacted by phone.
An investigation is already underway to determine the precise causes of the accident. It is not the first time that this flagship attraction has caused a death. In August 2009, a 35-year-old woman died in the same thrill ride after crossing the safety barrier during a turn.
The amusement park was nonetheless cleared in April 2010. An expert concluded that the accident was due to "the victim's inappropriate behavior". Reopened since June 6, the park attracts nearly 380,000 visitors per year.
