The crime of Fabián Gutiérrez shocked the town of El Calafate and, as the hours passed, much of the country. After the discovery of his body - buried, with signs of violence and wrapped in a sheet - in the courtyard of the home of one of the detainees, now the questions point to the four young people delayed by the violent death of the former secretary of Cristina Kirchner.

During the night of Friday and early Saturday morning, when an unprecedented operation was deployed in the city located 330 kilometers from Río Gallegos, the capital of Santa Cruz, the first arrests occurred. Among the delayed was Facundo Zaeta, 19 years old.

Fabian Guttierrez's body

The young man would be the one who maintained a sentimental bond with Fabián Gutiérrez and who saw him alive the last time. Facundo was delayed with his brother. Both are grandchildren of Oscar Zaeta, 71, a historic scribe in the city, who would have deed several Kirchner real estate operations, and who is also among the beneficiaries of former mayor Néstor Méndez in the controversial handover of fiscal land, during in 2006, at $ 7.50 per m2.

Facundo Zaeta would already have a criminal record. It is that last year he was arrested with drugs, along with other people in Río Gallegos.

The event dates back to October 2019, when, by order of the Federal Court of Río Gallegos, members of the Delegation of the Argentine Federal Police carried out a procedure in the coastal area of the capital of Santa Cruz, on a dock of parking. There Zaeta along with three other people were detained with 48 doses of LSD and a wrapper with 20 grams of marijuana.

They were all inside a VW Bora patent plate HUX 701 with narcotics and a sum of money close to 26 thousand pesos.

Another of the detainees is Maximiliano Gómez, son of Martín Gómez, grandson of a former mayor of El Calafate, Oscar Gómez. The latter is a relative of the current mayor of the tourist town, Javier Belloni.

The fourth detainee is a young man with the last name Monzón and in El Calafate he is known as "Juanca" Monzón.

Fabián Gutiérrez was secretary of the Kirchner couple, both in the presidencies of Néstor and Cristina.

Denunciation, mystery and death

It was Thursday night when Fabián Gutiérrez had the last contact with his mother. Then she heard nothing more about him until the body was found. According to sources close to the investigation, it was still not possible to determine what happened inside the house in the early hours of Friday.

What is reliably known is that Fabián Gutiérrez was seen shopping at the La Anónima supermarket and then at a store near the residence where he lived. Earlier he had seen him with his mother.

The mother, who made the complaint at the police headquarters, said that the last contact she had with him was on the night of Thursday, July 2, around 10:00 p.m. She had previously been with him, and had not noticed anything unusual in his behavior.

Witnesses reportedly warned the police that they had seen the former secretary of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner with a young man: it was Facundo Zaeta, one of the four arrested in the investigation of the crime.

After the last contact with the mother, on Thursday, the family circle could not contact him. Given this situation, Gutiérrez's mother began to ask in the family circle if they had any news about her son, because she called him and did not answer. Already desperate to have no news, on Friday, she made the complaint at the police headquarters.

The property of the former Kirchner official was expert for several hours and at the crack of dawn the judge in charge of the investigation, Carlos Narvarte, revealed that there were signs of blood, but could not find the body.

The businessman Fabián Gutiérrez, ex-secretary of Néstor and Cristina Kirchner, was found dead this morning by the Santa Cruz Police in a house in El Calafate.

The magistrate assured that Gutierrez had been killed at his home, where they found knives covered in blood. The body of the former secretary, he maintained, was transferred in his own van, in which they also found seals that would have been used to tie him up.

All kinds of hypotheses fly over El Calafate, none of them confirmed by Justice or by the environment of Gutiérrez. In response to these versions, his family and friends issued a statement: "In the face of Fabián's brutal crime, friends, family and people who love him, we beg the media, journalists and leaders from across the political spectrum, respect, empathy and peace. , but above all calm, leaving Justice to act, turning away from making painful, interested speculations of all kinds and colors ”.

“Fabián was, above all, a person. Owner of an immense heart and extraordinary human quality. For us it did not go, because it always will. We ask God to help us in this difficult time and in the urgent search for Justice. Thank you ”, they wrote.
