The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office today filed an appeal against the city district court's decision to sentence Issachar Company, a 24-year-old from Jerusalem only to probation and probation. A company has been convicted of indecent acts in 6-8-year-olds in stairwells.

A company was convicted of committing an indecent act and in actual fact indecent in five different children ages 8-6. The conviction described how he performed the deeds on a number of different occasions, over a period of about 8 months, inside the stairwells of the building he lives in. A friend lured the children to enter the stairwells with him, or followed them up to the stairwell and committed indecent acts.

At the sentencing stage, the State Attorney's Office sought to determine a punishment complex that would range from 3.5 to 7 years in prison, but the Jerusalem District Court decided to accept the probation service's recommendation to avoid actual imprisonment for fear of regression in a company's condition. On grounds of rehabilitation, the court imposed a sentence of probation, compensation for complainants, a fine and a two-year probation order.

As part of the appeal, the Prosecutor's Office seeks to impose a company sentence of imprisonment for a significant period, as the Prosecutor's Office believes it is a "bull's time" which is dangerous for every child in his or her environment. "With all the empathy that exists for the captive respondent in his harsh sexual urges, this empathy should not lead to just one case, where another minor will fall victim to these impulses ... The punishment imposed on the respondent - a fine and a probation order - has no retaliation, no deterrence , And not protection of the minors, ”the appeal stated.

The Prosecutor's Office also states in the appeal statement that "the acts committed by the defendant are extremely serious and their harm to minors - five minors - is severe ... The punishment imposed on the accused is not at all appropriate to the severity of the acts, the harm done to the minors, the company's dislike of such acts and The need to deter potential offenders from their actions. "

It was also stated that "the sentence imposed by the district court on the defendant" is completely deviant and without any justification for the minimum penalty that is set aside. "The

notice of appeal was filed by Attorney Rachel Matar, Director of the Criminal Division, State Attorney's Office.
