What seemed like a typical disturbance call in a quiet street in the southern part of the city of Córdoba ended with two policemen accused of killing a 35-year-old man in the context of an easy trigger case.

It all started in the early hours of Saturday, with the call to the Police of a neighbor from the El Libertador neighborhood of the Cordovan capital.

According to La Voz del Interior , it was close to 8 o'clock when the man alerted by screaming and running in his block of Caracas to 5200.

Caracas at 5200, in the South of the City of Córdoba. Two Córdoba police officers were arrested for the crime of a man.

When the Police arrived at the scene, however, they found almost nobody on the street and the house indicated by the neighbor was empty. But there was something in the yard: there they found the body of a man.

The victim was 35 years old and was identified as José Antonio Avila. He was shot in the abdomen .

Although in principle the witnesses said that they had seen nothing, the hypothesis that the victim had been involved in a police chase drew attention. Although, there was no record of that type of procedure in that area.

And when the Police found the man who lived in the house where the body was found, everything became clearer: the problem is that this witness was required by the Federal Justice for having violated a transitory exit.

The man said that he had escaped because of the arrest warrant that weighed on him but that he saw how policemen on motorcycles shot the victim, according to La Voz del Interior .

It was then that the security cameras of that area of the City of Córdoba became key. And the prosecutor Eugenia Pérez Moreno ordered the arrests of two policemen.

The officers charged with manslaughter doubly aggravated by the function and use of a firearm are both first corporal and were identified as Lucas Gonzalo Navarro and Sebastián Juárez.

Both policemen belong to the Motorcycle division and the suspicion is that Navarro was the author of the shot, while his partner did not inform his superiors of what happened.
