The Innovation Office emphasized that in the process of approving applications and after approval, the Secretariat or its agents will also review and spot-check the information submitted by employers, and conduct on-site audits at the spot-checked employers’ institutions. If any employers make false statements, Misreporting, concealing or providing false or misleading documents or information to obtain any subsidies may result in criminal prosecution by the employer.
In addition, the Secretariat and agents are actively following up related reports, reviewing the application qualifications of the relevant employers, the approved funds, the relevant MPF contribution records provided by the trustee, and conducting on-site audits if necessary. Complaints about labor disputes stipulated in the Employment Ordinance or employment conditions will be referred to the Labour Department for follow-up. If necessary, they will be referred to the relevant law enforcement authorities for follow-up.
