"The mayor of Oman is known for his anti-Semitic approach and now, under the auspices of the Corona virus, is trying to surf the anti-Semitic wave in the shadow of the upcoming municipal elections" (will be held last week of October, DL) .

Recall that Mayor Alexander Zibri posted a Facebook post today stating that he is against the arrival of pilgrims to Uman in the New Year area and has submitted a provocative survey on the matter.

Seemingly, if the post he had uploaded was out of context, this demand might have made sense in the shadow of the familiar guidelines related to social remoteness, masks and more. However, the reference to the extermination was intended for specific Jewish pilgrims rather than "tourists" in their overall name, when the picture of the jovial Jews leaves no room for doubt.

The source emphasized that "Zibari has erected a monument in memory of a Polish aggressor Ivan Gonte, who murdered tens of thousands of Jewish city residents for their Jewishness", he said. We are rebuilding the place, canceling building permits after paying money - and not returning it, and it seems that tourism considerations are of no interest to him but something else. "

"The serious problem is that along the way it harms the interests of the beloved State of Ukraine. Such a mayor is a failure for the state." The source also added that "as if this is not enough, now, a week before Rosh Hashanah, he is initiating a music festival in memory of that junta and today is trying his luck at addressing the public in an attempt to prevent the pilgrimage of the Jews."

Across the Jewish community in Ukraine, much anger is felt in relation to the post in question. Among other things, "Israel Today" has learned that rabbis and businessmen from the state are preparing to apply in a letter to the President of Ukraine to put the mayor in place because of his efforts.

Most of the respondents to the provocative survey that the mayor supported did support his position - against the arrival of pilgrims to Uman for the New Year. Soon the post went viral among the ultra-Orthodox community. Many wrote that marking the New Year's events in Oman has been the practice for many years and that, among other things, "they support the locals" and "must reach Rabbi Nachman."

The locals said they were more divided. "In my opinion, this question needs to be resolved at the state level and not the social networks," one commenter wrote. Another wrote "sitting at home, this year they do not belong to the artist." Another puzzler - "How do you make followers not go to the artist?"
