The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association of America (NBPA) authorized a list of 29 political slogans that players will be able to display on their jerseys, including support for the movement"Black Lives Matter" , when the season resumes on July 30, suspended since March by the coronavirus pandemic.

The league will restart in the Disney World bubble in Florida and the players of the 22 franchises that will be part of this last stage of the championship will have, if they wish, the possibility of taking the field with a claiming message on their shirts.

In the first four days of competition, the slogans should be placed in the back and will replace the basketball player's name. After that, they will be able to keep those affirmations but in another place of their uniforms, since they will have to show their names on the back again.

The players' union and the league have agreed on a list of 29 allowed slogans , according to an ESPN report, which can be read on the jerseys in both English and Spanish.

The list, which reached the players via email, is as follows: ' Black Lives Matter' , 'I Can't Breathe' , 'Vote' (Vote), 'Justice ' (Justice), ' Stand Up ' , ' Listen ' , ' Listen to Us' , 'Say Their Names' , ' Peace ' , ' How Many ' More ' , ' Education Reform ' , ' Liberation ' , ' Equality ' , ' Freedom ' , ' Enough ' , ' Yes we can ' ( Yes You Can), 'Say Her Name' , 'Mentor' , 'I Am A Man' , 'Speak Up' , 'Ally' , 'Anti-Racist ' (antiracist), ' Justice now "( Justice now), 'Power to the people" (Power to the people), ' See Us' (Look at us), 'Hear Us' (Hear), ' Respect Us' (Respétanos) , 'Love Us' (Ámanos) and 'Group Economics' .

The NBA will also have the 'Black Lives Matter' message printed on the tracks in prominent locations.

The league and NBPA are discussing other plans to help players make better use of their platforms, including the addition of a number of guest speakers. In the manual provided to players for the season restart, the NBA stated its intention to use his return to give voice to these issues.

"A goal of our season restart will be to use the NBA platform to draw attention to issues of social injustice, including fighting systematic racism, expanding educational and economic opportunities throughout the black community, enacting of significant police and criminal justice reforms and promoting greater civic participation, "explained on the second page of the manual.

And it is claimed that work is being done to create "a comprehensive strategy on how the NBA, its teams and players can better address these important social issues and uniquely position the league to drive action and create meaningful and generational change."
