It is the 19th case recorded in this small country in the South Pacific which still expects further contamination. " We have a confirmed case of Covid-19 disease in a returning citizen who had been confined to a government-funded quarantine center ," said Bainimarama.

All people arriving in Fiji are quarantined for 14 days. Acting Secretary of Health James Fong said Fiji has so far deliberately refrained from declaring itself free of the virus. " Although Fiji has no local cases of transmission, this pandemic is still raging beyond our shores, " said Fong, who said he was not surprised by the case on Sunday. " We don't expect this to be the last case of quarantine, " he added.
