The driver of a tractor and his passenger, a 12-year-old boy, were killed late Monday afternoon in Rosières (Haute-Loire) in the accidental overturning of the machine, AFP learned from firefighters and the prefecture.

Alerted at around 5.30 p.m., the firefighters and the Samu de la Haute-Loire medical team could not keep the victims alive, crushed under the weight of the tractor before dying from their injuries.
The 54-year-old driver would have probably lost control of the machine in a sloping meadow, but the exact circumstances of the accident had yet to be determined, according to the prefecture.
