The Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation confirmed that the cause known as "the money route K" will resume virtually on Wednesday the 8th . He did so by rejecting an appeal filed last Friday by the defense of Fabián Rossi, who is one of the accused in the process.

The decision of Chamber IV, made up of Mariano Borinsky, Javier Carbajo and Gustavo Hornos, accompanies that of the Federal Criminal Oral Court No. 4, which is the one that ordered the remote resumption of the trial against Rossi, businessman K Lázaro Báez , his children, former financier Leonardo Fariña and other businessmen. They are accused of laundering $ 65 million through complex financial operations.

The trial, which began in October 2018, was in the allegations stage when it should have been suspended due to the coronavirus health emergency. However, once the technological mechanisms were approved, the TOF 4 ordered the resumption of the process through the virtual platforms of the Council of the Magistracy.

After this decision, the defense of Rossi questioned the modality of "virtual trial" because, he claimed, the current electronic system would not allow him to adequately exercise the defense.

After the proposal, Cassation rejected his request and the defense filed a complaint that entered Friday the Chamber IV of the Federal Chamber of Cassation, which finally on Monday validated the continuity of the debate.

According to Clarín, the hearings will be held every Wednesday in two-shift days (in the morning and in the afternoon) through the video conferencing platform "Jitsi Meet" or "the one that is most appropriate ·" to comply with the distancing preventive social.

"The money route K" judges the alleged laundering of 60 million dollars by Báez, his four children, Fariña, Rossi, Elaskar and 16 other people.

All are prosecuted for alleged money laundering, as a result of illegal acts committed with the public work in Santa Cruz awarded to companies of the Báez group during the governments of Néstor and Cristina Kirchner, according to the accusation made by the prosecution and the complaints of the OA and the FIU.
