Spain agrees to the extradition of Emilio Lozoya 1:16
(CNN Spanish) –– This Monday, the Spanish National Court has agreed to extradite former Pemex director Emilio Lozoya to Mexico. The judges of the Second Section of the Criminal Chamber consider, after examining the procedure, that all the requirements established in the legislation to proceed with the delivery of Lozoya are met, according to a statement from the National Court.
Following the decision, a period of three days is now open for the presentation of possible appeals. At the end of the period, and if there are no appeals against it, it may be returned to Mexico. According to a spokesperson for the National Court to CNN, the extradition will be carried out by the Spanish authorities.

On June 29, Lozoya agreed to be extradited to Mexico, as reported by the Attorney General of Mexico, Alejandro Gertz Manero, and the Spanish National Court itself.
Emilio Lozoya was CEO of the Pemex oil company between December 2012 and February 2016. He was detained in Malaga on February 12 and in March he was transferred to the Madrid Penitentiary Center, where he is being held.
In July 2019, a judge in Mexico ordered his arrest, after being accused of having accepted $ 10 million in exchange for awarding public works contracts to the Brazilian company Odebrecht.
