A government spokesman said that the cash disbursement plan will begin to distribute funds to eligible citizens who have been electronically registered by the bank on or before last month. The first batch of approximately 3.15 million citizens has already passed their designated personal bank account today. After receiving the payment, the rest will be received in the next one to two days.
The Financial Secretary Chen Maobo had earlier pointed out that the number of electronic registrations exceeded expectations. As of the end of June, there were about 4.3 million registered qualified persons.

A government spokesman said that depending on the design of the bank concerned, the deposit will be marked with "HKSARG$10000", "HKSARG" or "HKG" on the registrant's passbook or monthly statement. The bank will also notify the registrant via SMS, email or letter within 3 working days that the relevant funds have been deposited in its designated bank account.
Citizens who electronically register with the bank on or after July 1st will receive the payment approximately 1 week after registration. Members of the public can browse the cash payment plan website (www.cashpayout.gov.hk) or call 18 2020 for details of the plan.
