The image of Alberto Fernández fell for the sixth consecutive time and the question is whether he has already reached his apartment

He lost 25 of the 30 extra points he had earned at the start of the pandemic. Even so, he remains the leader with the most positive evaluation.

The film could be called "What the Quarantine Taken" . After showing an unprecedented rise in his positive image in March, the month of the landing of the coronavirus in Argentina, Alberto Fernández suffered a gradual but steady decline in his assessment and today, according to a new national survey, which Clarín agreed , I would have lost 25 of those 30 bonus track points . Rarities of national policy: despite six consecutive declines, the President remains the leader with the most positive weight in the country.

These data are derived from the latest study by the consulting firm Giacobbe & Asociados . A national survey of 2,500 cases  (surveyed between June 29 and July 1) released this weekend and with a margin of error of +/- 2%.

In one of the first charts, the image of the five most watched politicians today is detailed: Alberto Fernández, Axel Kicillof, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, Cristina Kirchner and Mauricio Macri. The first three, for being the central managers of the pandemic. The last two, as latent representatives of a renewed crack.

- The President , with 43% positive, remains at the top. Complete with 16.3% fair and 38.5% negative. People already begin (or return) to filter it with the logic of polarization.

- The head of the Buenos Aires Government  comes below with 36% positive, 36.2% fair and only 18% negative. Potentially, it is the one that shows the greatest margin to grow.

Giacobbe & Asociados National Survey. July 2020.

- The vice president filters third, with 31.7% positive, 11.3% fair and 53.9% negative. It is the one that usually has more stable numbers, with a red balance but a hard core that still loves it.

- The Buenosairean governor , who like Alberto F. and Larreta had capitalized support for the Covid theme, is also gradually falling. It is 29% positive, 11.3% fair and 50% negative.

- The former president of Cambiemos fails to raise his head. Rather the opposite. In this survey, as in most that compare images, it is last: 20.7% positive, 25.3% fair, and 50.9% negative.

But beyond this current photo, then the consultancy shows a graph with the evolution of the image of Alberto F. and the journey of the last months is dizzying .

Giacobbe & Asociados National Survey. July 2020.

1) According to Giacobbe, the President took office in December with a little more positive than negative evaluation , with both parameters around 40 points.

2) By February , the balance had been reversed, with more rejection than approval, but always within an even range

3) In March  the breakdown occurred and added some 30 points of positive image , to reach the record of 67.8%. In contrast, the negative was just above 10 points.

4) Since then, there has been a constant decline, reflected in six measurements : two in April, two in May and two in June. Thus, he lost about 25 of those 30 unexpected points he had captured by Covid.

5) Now, Fernández's weight is similar to what he had when he arrived at Rosada. The consultants' question is whether it touched its floor or it can continue to go down.

By other data that the study shows and also by measurements of the rest of the pollsters, the fall of the President is largely explained by the extension of isolation and the deep economic recession. But Giacobbe adds a particular exercise in his study, which would also reflect the negative view (especially of non-official voters) on Alberto F.'s relationship with Cristina Kirchner . The consultant asks people to identify the president with a word. In the cloud of results, one of the largest read words is "Puppet".
