Brazil's President Javier Bolsonaro announced on Tuesday on a local television speech that his past voting tests would be channeled to infect the Corona virus.
Yesterday, the state media reported that the president had undergone a series of tests, including lung photography, after showing some symptoms typical of covid-19 disease. Bolesonaro himself said in a speech at a support rally that lung scan results showed no problem with his respiratory system.
The US Health Organization wished Brazilian President a speedy recovery. It is unclear at this point whether Bolsonaro will need hospitalization and to what extent he can continue his presidency.
In March, a similar rumor spread that the Brazilian president had contracted the virus, which then began spreading across the state, but that was denied by state authorities.
Bolesnaro's belligerent approach to blockade and damage to the economy in order to combat the Corona virus has led to severe criticism from both the government and the opposition, and two health ministers quit their post after quarreling with the president on the issue. Bolsonaro even called the Corona the "little influence" in the past.
