The Knesset Labor and Social Affairs Committee discussed Tuesday the social workers' strike that began last night. The chairman of the Social Workers Union, Inbal Hermoni, took part in the discussion through the zoom because she is in isolation, and presented the demands of the UAs to end the strike.

The first is the budgeting of a social worker protected plan, which costs NIS 180 million and is intended to address the severe violence experienced by the workers. The second - Immediate entry into the process of reforming the salary structure and the third - a shekel and immediate supplemental shekel of NIS 1,250 for every social worker, at every level and everywhere.

Treasury Rep. Nathaniel Asheri said in response to demands and also claims that the Treasury has "waved" to social workers when it comes to wage reform: "This is an unacceptable statement. We have met and worked with them. We joined hands with various parties and worked hard to increase emergency social service, on the order of hundreds of millions of shekels. "

However, he emphasized that "we do not receive the ultimate negotiating agreement of providing NIS 1,250 per social worker. Such a shekel addition will also be given to people who earn average wages in the economy and above and this is not acceptable to us. "

MK Tali Pluskov, who led the discussion, wondered: "You can't give these people NIS 1,250 to tell them that we appreciate their work? These are the people who are at the forefront of this crisis. This is a one-off operation. "It's a group that is facing a crisis of this crisis and needs a focused reference right now that will give them the strength to continue doing the work without which we will have to spend a lot more money to get the people who are now without social services out of the crisis."

At the end of the discussion, MK Pluskov said: "I am meeting with the Minister of Finance today and will discuss the issue. Probably not the solution but I'm going to fight for these people "

Earlier this morning, the Association of Social Facts announced that due to Treasury refusal to negotiate - the emergency committees for emergency treatment were canceled. "Treasury officials are continuing the fraud campaign and are deceiving the finance minister who is negotiating with us. This is Pike News, we urge the finance minister to intervene in the crisis."

The Exception Committees handle dedicated child violence cases, termination committees, sexual harassment, the Corona epidemic and the need for community health services, emergency guardians for medical treatment, underage treatment for psychiatric treatment, suicide attempts and more.
