According to data from the International Baccalaureate Organization, 2,324 candidates in Hong Kong applied for IB this year, with an average score of 36.31, a slight increase of 0.32 from last year, which is more than 6 points higher than the global average of 29.9 points this year. There are 23 top picks with a score of 45 in Hong Kong, 11 fewer than 34 last year, but they account for about 16% of the 140 top picks in the world.
