Bringing together nearly 15,000 pieces, ranging from impressionism to abstraction to new realism, the museum paints a complete picture of the artistic wealth of this era. Nearly 1,200 paintings dot the establishment, as well as numerous sculptures, precious objects and period furniture. Among the many treasures of the museum, one can once again admire the paintings of Rembrandt, Boucher, Fragonard, Greuze, or even the drawings of Watteau. The Pyramid of the Louvre N.Jérôme

Louvre Museum

127 days of closure… Mona Lisa had to find the time long… it which captivates 20,000 amazed looks from all over the world every day. The math is quick: more than 2.5 million visitors have been deprived of this mysterious air which Mona Lisa has been boasting about since 1797 at the Louvre. Closed since March 1, the largest museum in the world reopens its doors on July 6, respecting, of course, all the sanitary measures in force. To access the different collections and the 32,000 works that constitute them, access will be through the pyramid after a compulsory online reservation (even if you benefit from a possible free admission) with a time slot defined for your visit. Inside, the changing rooms will not be accessible and the audio guides will still be unusable. No question either of checking, during your cultural stroll, if the crouching scribe has discreetly changed position: a sense of visit has been established and retracing his steps is impossible. If a large part of the museum will be visible, some parts will remain closed: French sculpture from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, works of art from the Renaissance, from the 18th and 19th centuries, the arts of Africa, Asia, from Oceania and the Americas, the lower level of Islamic Art as well as the second floor retaining French and Northern European paintings. And since the conditions of visit will be privileged (still few tourists and a limited gauge), do not miss the short “mini-discovery” visits from July 8 to September 20. Free and without reservation (10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.), they will allow you to learn a little more about this emblematic place steeped in history.
