Former Economy Minister Domingo Cavallo assured on Tuesday that the late former President Néstor Kirchner was " a very ambitious and very unscrupulous man ", while he considered that Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner was a "good housewife".

"I had a relationship with Kirchner. When we went with Sonia (Cavallo) to Río Gallegos or El Calafate, she (Cristina Kirchner) treated us like a good housewife, brought us coffee, served us the table, etc., but she never she was the interlocutor on serious policy issues, "he recalled.

Cavallo said that in the 1990s he was a source of inquiries from Néstor Kirchner. "He asked me a lot of things and he was very supportive. Obviously he was a very intelligent man, very capable, very skillful," he described.

In an extensive interview that he gave to Radio Miter Córdoba , the economist recalled that, at that time, " Cristina de Kirchner had no ideology , had eloquence, knew how to speak in the Chamber of Deputies, but was totally dependent on thought and action from her husband. "

"Later, when she was president and Néstor Kirchner died, I think she was enchanted with characters like (the current Buenos Aires governor Axel) Kicillof and Marxistoides, and this type of people, the boys from La Cámpora . I think some of them had an absolutely wrong training, but hey, when you are young you have wrong ideas. The unfortunate thing is that Cristina de Kirchner, following a phenomenon that also occurred in other Latin American countries, in Venezuela or in Ecuador, advanced towards this idea of socialism of the 21st century and of course the Marxists see it with sympathy for that, they have a vocation statist ”, evaluated.

Cavallo questioned the march of the national government and warned that the Argentine economy continues to be one of "socialism without a plan and capitalism without a market."

"We are in a very poorly organized economy , " he summarized and warned that it could end in a more extensive stagflation. But in addition, he did not rule out the possibility of hyperinflation occurring , although he clarified that this phenomenon "occurs in moments of emptiness of political power " or in those in which whoever has power "has lost total control of the situation" .

In this regard, he estimated: "I believe that if Alberto Fernández and Cristina Kirchner, and this Government, do not reach a situation of losing control of the situation, it is likely that they can prevent them from falling into hyperinflation, but what they are not going to do is to be able to avoid is that we continue in a stagflation and perhaps a sharper one ”.

"They returned to recreate all the defects and today we undoubtedly have a socialism without a plan and a capitalism without a market. The timid changes that the (Mauricio) Macri government tried to introduce were absolutely insufficient to recreate rules of the game such as those that we implemented in 1991 and that is why it failed as a government. But the economy is still a socialism without a plan and a capitalism without a market, "he insisted.

Cavallo revealed that Alberto Fernández's meeting with former President Eduardo Duhalde and José Ignacio de Mendiguren gave him "laughter" , and he regretted that the Head of State is seeking answers from these leaders to reverse the economic crisis.

"It made me laugh because if Alberto Fernández had a correct concept of what Argentine history was and why the country is facing the problems it faces, it is working for him and it will be very difficult to get the country out of this impasse", argument.
