Iranian Television Network on Wednesday announced that Iran and Syria have signed a military cooperation agreement as part of a meeting of security ministers in Damascus.
Iran's defense minister Amir Khatami arrived in Syria on Tuesday to round up meetings with Syrian officials, including President Bashar al-Assad.
Iranian chief of staff Mohammed Baghari told Pras: "Under the agreement signed, we will strengthen Syria's air defense systems and help it cope with US pressure."
Syrian Secretary of Defense General Ali Abdullah Ayub said at the end of the meeting: "If the United States government could bring down the states of resistance to their knees, including Syria and Iran, it would not hesitate for a moment. Will win this time too. "
The agreement between the states was signed on the basis of US calls from the last weeks to leave Iran's forces from Syria. As mentioned last month, Fox News has documented the continued establishment of the Islamic Republic within Syria. Satellite imagery, taken by international intelligence company Imagesat international, has indicated that Iran is building a series of weapons storage bunkers in southeast Syria, near the Iraqi border.
According to the images, Revolutionary Guards bulldozers build the underground structures at the base of Imam Ali, a large base of Revolutionary Guards' Quds force near the Iraqi border and the town of Bochmal. The photos show bulldozers alongside elongated excavation sites, which the company estimates can contain medium-range missiles.
