Russia vetoed the UN Security Council on Tuesday for a one-year extension and via two entry points into Syria of the cross-border humanitarian aid to the population, diplomats said.

The resolution proposed for a written vote by the members of the Security Council was carried by Germany and Belgium, two non-permanent members. During the negotiations, Russia had asked for an extension of the device for only six months and that only one entry point to Syria be kept against two currently, according to diplomats.
