  • Netanyahu can't even threaten the elections. With Minister Gantz in the plenum

When Prime Minister Netanyahu and his successors claimed in the future that anyone who connected them to the current private unity government is the Corona virus, they did not imagine that the ridiculous excuse that no one bought - would become a reality. Had it not been for the Turd virus, Netanyahu would have dismantled this partnership long ago for elections, which, according to the polls, would be expected to win a big victory.

But the virus preyed on his cards. Now, not only can he say goodbye to Gantz, but he must cling to it with all his might. Failure, for him, could not be an orphan this time.

In the first act of the Corona, Netanyahu is short of success. Skeptical and critical have always been, but the bottom line was a single-player performance that eventually won the box office. But the second round has its own rules. As the virus increases its rate of nibbling in the population, the public's confidence in the government drops. What appeared to be decisive decisions in May looked like improvisations in July.

The judgment that had left an impression in the past now seems like a thought-prong. The transition government, and especially its head, then working solo, managed to do what is now a permanent government and a functioning Knesset - can only dream of it.

The political implications are immediate as you think. Netanyahu not only does not intend to go to the elections, with or without applying sovereignty, but even he can no longer threaten. Any statement in the direction can be flipped on its head, with crowds furious and businesses crashing in front of our eyes like dominoes.

Therefore, the decision to reach quick consensus on the budget, as revealed by our writer Yehuda Schlesinger, was an obvious one. No one will forgive those who engage in petty and petty politics in the face of the emerging catastrophe.

The resignation of Professor Sigal Sadecki does not add to the sense of trust in the system. Not that one has to agree with what she says, but the very fact that she had a saying, while all the rest are mostly stuttering.

The first to recognize the situation was Aryeh Deri. He first understood the size of Netanyahu's dependence and glared at each other, and quickly issued a statement that this was not the time for further elections.

Deri, and with him the other ultra-Orthodox leaders, are content with the current government, which they believe can be canceled forever. So far, Deri has not said what is on his mind, knowing that Netanyahu holds the opposite opinion. Yesterday, after making sure that the elections were completely withdrawn from the chapter on the part of the prime minister and the budget for consents, he dared to express his position, which he has held for many weeks.

Deri's announcement is also a signal to Netanyahu. The window of opportunity for elections will soon be closed, but if the prime minister wants to dismantle the government even before exercising the rotation that will move Prime Minister Gantz, he should prepare the ground and check that his other partners are ready to embark on an adventure. Because from now on, it's not really safe anymore.

The Corona virus preyed on Netanyahu's cards in the second wave. Now, not only can he not say goodbye to his son, but he must cling to it with all his might.
